554 Micro observers with 9 women polling stations

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed a total of 554 Micro observers for West Tripura parliamentary seat and the ECI will also set up nine-all women polling stations in Tripura.

The ECI has already appointed four general observers two each for two constituencies of Tripura, two expenditures observers and a police observers for both the constituencies. All the observers had already arrived in the state and started their works.

Considering the performance of women polling personnel in previous elections in Tripura, altogether nine polling stations would be set up with only women polling personnel.

Around 19,000 polling personnel, including 60 women, would be appointed to man the 3,095 polling stations across the state with several hundred sector officers.

It may be recalled here that a total of 13 candidates are in the fray of polling in West Tripura PC and 12 more candidates in East Tripura seat. A total 23, 85,559 voters will cast their votes on April 7 and April 12 elections in Tripura for West Tripura PC and East Tripura PC respectively.
