Sri B.K.Sahu awarded for innovative book on computer and language usage



Mr Barun Kumar Sahu, an IITian and a senior officer belonging to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service has won the Rajiv Gandhi National Award given by the government of India for his innovative book entitled ‘Computing in your own language, localization in the Globalized cyber-space’ which elucidated the methodology of using different languages in computer. 

Mr Sahu obtained Bachelor of Technology (Honors) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),Kharagpur. He has rich experience in implementation of Indian languages and the IT schemes in the government set-up. It is also his hobby. He actively works for promotion of Indic languages, including tribal and obscure languages. He was in-charge of IT Department under Government of Tripura. The present book is the outcome of his efforts at promotion of Indian languages. This is his seventh book. He writes and contributes articles on e-governance, current affairs and news analysis. He is conversant with several languages besides English and Hindi, including Bengali, French, Spanish and Urdu. Mr Sahu is currently posted as Secretary in the department of Fisheries.
