The state election department on Friday Mar 21, 2014 issued notification of
tender for printing voter slips for all sixty assembly constituency segments
under two parliament constituencies of the state. An approximate figure of six
lakh single side printed voter slips would be printed as a part of the
technical preparation of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election in Tripura, the
notification from election department said.
The notification today said that all printed voter slips should be delivered within five days from the issuance of supply order from the Department. Selected vendors are required to depute its technical manpower for generation of PDF documents of the voter slips at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer alongwith delivery of the printed material, the document added.
All tender quotations relating to the issue would be received at the office of the Additional Chief Electoral Officer in the old civil secretariat complex in Agartala till March 25, the notification said.
The election department stressed on quality printing of the voter slips in the notification and said that no inferior quality of voter slips would be accepted under any circumstances. The photo voter slips were introduced in the 2013 state assembly election after the Election Commission decided to issue photo voter slips to all voters from sixty assembly constituencies. The initiative was taken as a step to eliminate false voters from participating in the polling process.
A total of 23 lakh 83 thousand 146 voters would be exercising their adult franchise right in the Lok Sabha election this year. 12 lakh 46 thousand 19 of them are male and 11 lakh 37 thousand 127 are female voters as per electoral rolls published on January 06 earlier this year. 3,259 service electors would be voting through postal ballots.
