The Election Commission has categorized
20 polling stations of Tripura as hyper- sensitive and 444 as sensitive out of
total 3095 polling booths.
EC had deployed security forces well
before the election across the country to ensure free and fair polling. About
4000 Central Paramilitary Forces ( CPMF) has already been deployed across the
state two days ago. Police however, maintained that 18 booths of 20 hyper-
sensitive have been identified in East Tripura tribal reserved parliamentary
constituency across backward locations of North Tripura and Dhalai districts
where there are still presence of insurgents.
In hyper-
sensitive booths three- tire security would be erected with CPMF and in
sensitive booths will also be guarded by CPMF along with state police
personnel.
Apart from that both air and surface
surveillance would be strengthened further across the state before and during
poll, police officials maintained adding that BSF have been put on high alert
along Indo- Bangladesh border.
Around 20000 security personnel
including 15000 state Police and TSR jawans would be deployed to ensure law and
order in the state during poll. The EC is still
contemplating for webcasting in 100 randomly selected polling stations.
13 candidates including
major parties - CPI( M), Congress, BJP, Trinamool Congress and Aam Admi Party
have submitted nomination for West Tripura parliamentary constituency where
election to be held on April 7.
Meanwhile, CPI( M) nominee and Industries and Commerce Minister Jitendra
Chaudhury has filed his nomination for East Tripura tribal reserved seat for
April 12 polling on 20th March, 2014. Congress, Trinamool, BJP and
Aam Admi Party will submit nomination on 23rd and 24th March
2014.
