Arunachal to Get Four New Districts

Decks have been cleared for formation of four new districts in Arunachal Pradesh with the assent accorded to the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 2013 by Governor Lt Gen (Rtd) Nirbhay Sharma. The frontier State, presently with 17 districts, will have 21 districts with the addition of the four new districts. The State Assembly, in its session in March last year, had passed the Bill, paving the way for creation of the four new districts, viz., Kra Daadi, Namsai, Siang and Lower Siang districts.
